About David A Evans

What differentiates me in the services I provide is the extensive experience I have at the sharp end over 25 years in executive management, workplace transformation, HR, outsourcing, and mediation.  My experience in global companies across many sectors has enabled me to understand the importance of clear and effective working relationships in diverse cultures. 

In my roles as Managing Director in Accenture, Industrial Relations in Ford Motor Company, manufacturing in FMCG, and my mediation work I have developed the judgement, skills and experience to help prevent and address people related issues at the corporate, team and individual level:  client – supplier; company – trade union; company – workforce; team – team; employee – employee.

My early career was spent in Industrial Relations at Ford Motor Company.  The focus of my work at Ford was on resolving industrial disputes, and more importantly preventing their occurrence through the planning of workforce and workplace change, and the maintenance of good relationships. 

 

Working in manufacturing in the 1980s gave me extensive experience of undertaking disciplinary and grievance management, of advising management on the conduct of disciplinary hearings and appeals, of preparing cases to defend at Employment Tribunals, and how to implement change in volatile unionised environments.

I built on this experience at United Biscuits where I designed and implemented the critical people based strategies to drive productivity.  I facilitated the nationally sponsored trade union negotiations for major pay-related change programmes with the supervisory and hourly paid trade unions, and implemented advanced team working in manufacturing.

At Accenture I have undertaken a range of commercial executive roles - the common theme has been designing and implementing complex workforce and commercial change, particularly through outsourcing.  I have designed global outsourcing deals, and run one of the largest HR outsourcing deals globally.  My work in HR outsourcing has always focused on measuring the commercial contribution from HR transformation programmes.  My experience as Diversity Lead for Accenture was successful in achieving employee buy-in to "yes - this diversity stuff does apply to me" and demonstrating that investment in Diversity drives commercial growth with clients.

I have added to my skills and experience by becoming an Accredited Commercial Mediator in 2003, through the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution, CEDR, London.

I was appointed to undertake public service as a Magistrate (Justice of the Peace) for England & Wales in June 2007. Chair from 2013.

I am an Advisory Board member of TalentEase, an Indian company which develops skills for work in children within the Indian education system.
